Ancient of Days
How can you describe a God who is without fault. changeless spotless, timeless, ageless. Enduring, unchanging, remaining, unwavering. Immutable, impeccable, unimpeachable, irreproachable, incorruptable. Words that conflict with the characteristics of world leaders today, I can’t see God being impeached can you? Governments can be corrupt but not God! leaders can lack integrity, but not God. he is perfect in all his ways and all of his days…. Ancient of days as OLD AS YOU ARE YOU WILL NEVER CHANGE ……
In Luke we read. “And as they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace beunto you. But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit. And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts? Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have. And when he had thus spoken, he shewed them his hands and his feet. And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here any meat? And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb. And he took it, and did eat before them.” (Luke 24:37-39).
Jesus, they were his friends, they knew him as a man, questioned him as God, and thought it hard to embrace when he said “I will come to you again”.. as the comforter, the Spirit. After his death he reappeared to them not like he was, but as another. They had just few days previously eat at the table with him and now the scriptures tells us that they “mistook him for a ghost.” Is this a man or is it a ghost, is this an aspiration or is this real? It seemed like a spirit to them “pneuma” the human soul after the departure of the spirit, but they were afraid and unsure.
Jesus before his resurrection, had appeared to them in the ship in the fourth watch of the night walking on the sea (Mark 6;49). Here again they cried out thinking that they had seen a ghost “phantasma” So here are two appearances of Jesus as a Ghost. Hence we can see that Luke’s “Pneuma” in (24;47) is Marks “Phanasma” they had seen, Spirit.
Let me ask you what do you do when God reveals himself in a different form, Oh you know God by tradition, custom, church meeting and study, but what if he wants to come to you all by himself supernaturally, by the power of the spirit in an unconventional way? What do you do when God reveals himself in a different form, in a different measure, in a different way, to demonstrate the power of a resurrected life!
Muslims will argue that Spirit cannot be seen and hence never do see the Holy Ghost in their lives, Trinitarians will argue that Jesus is not God and hence never see an acts style revival in their house where folks are baptised, and filled with God’s spirit in one meeting, and so miss a glorious acts style revival. The DANGERS OF MISSING GOD! But we know God revealed himself as Jesus and indeed throughout time, many times in both Old and New Testament he. deity has revealed HIMSELF in angelic and spirit form. God was a Spirit in the form of a man. God is God and God can manifest himself as angel, spirit or man.
Jesus when he saw their unbelief said “a spirit hath not flesh and bones as you see me having.” He as spirit was saying I’m not just a ghost, phantasma and pneuma, I am he, this is me, this is who I am. God in his glorified incorruptible and deathless body. What Jesus was then that evening, he is now. He is now what we the members of his body hope to be, when he appears to us.
His Nature has always been GOD.
I am the lord thy God I change not (Mal 3:6).
God is CHANGELESS. He who was and he who is, is for ever the same God. God is unchangeable. He is not spirit one day and human the next. He is always God in whatever form he appears to man. He has never changed his nature or his name. His position or his deity. God is not Father one day and Son of God the next, in fact as Son he did not cease being God, he has never ceased to be God, for God can never cease being who he is, that of being God. God has always been king of kings, some folks believe he will be king of kings again some time in the future, but friend he is king of kings all the time. No one can make him king, or take his crown from him. He was King of Kings before there were kings and will always be King of Kings when all kings are gone and buried. He remains for ever, King of Kings.
Since God by name nature and word is the same, we should never be in confusions to his person. It is BECAUSE MAN HAS MADE HIM MORE THAN ONE that man is confused about his name, nature and word.
His Name has always been JESUS.
What about his name, has he changed that? No! Listening to folks online today you would wonder if God really did change his name! Yeshua or Jehovah and so on it goes. My question, Why would God change his name when he has an excellent name! (Hebrews 1:4). His name depicts his nature, his nature has not changed. Some folks believe his is a good God now and a bad God then in the Old Testament but God remaineth the same. “From everlasting to everlasting” (Psalm 106:48). His name shall be called the everlasting Father (Isaiah 9:6). The Father did not have his name changed. He is everlasting, his works are everlasting, his mercy is everlasting and his truth is everlasting to all generations and so is his name. It’s just that men did not discover who he God was until his incarnation. Jesus, GOD with us! “Bethlehem..out of thee..shall come one whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting” (Micah 5;2).
His name was a secret to the Old Testament saints. When the angel of God appeared, Manoah asked what is thy name? (God said) why askest thou it is a secret. (Judges 3;17). Jacob wrestled with God. Tell me thy name he said, God replied “why should I tell you..” (Gen 32;29). (Is 52;6) God said, “in that day they shall know my name.” That day is the day he came in the flesh. “And his name shall called Jesus.. in that day they knew his name and the reasons this, his name is the revelation of deity in all his fulness (Col 2;9).God appearing to all men for the purpose of redemption. Redemptions in his name, God’s revelation of his name and nature is in his name. God’s revelation of himself is his name and his person., the man Jesus.
HIS PROMISE HAS ALWAYS BEEN TRUE
He is the True. His name is the TRUE. The Truth. The True vine, the LORD (JESUS) is the TRUE God (Jer 10;10). In Psalm 119 verse 89 and verse 152 we read this: ‘For ever, O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven. Concerning thy testimonies, I have known of old that thou hast founded them for ever’. ITS SETTLED FRIEND. Your healing he promised shall be yours, settle that in your heart and mind today God said it You know it and that settles it. “There is no differentiation between who he is and what he said” What he said, he is, and who he is he said. He is the promise coming to you, as good as he exists he is the promise prophesied to you. believe it today in HIS NAME…JESUS. RECEIVE HIS PROMISE TODAY… His word like his name is forever the same. What he said then he says now, what he promised you back then he promises you now. God can’t change his name and he wont change his word Why because he is the True God. Ancient of days as old as you are You will never change..
GOD SHOW US YOUR GLORY!
(Exodus 33:17-19) Where we read, And the LORD said unto Moses, I will do this thing also that thou hast spoken: for thou hast found grace in my sight, and I know thee by name. And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory. And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy.
TO BEHOLD JESUS IS TO BEHOLD THE GLORY OF GOD.. Jesus the visible glory of the deity.
The followers of Jesus beheld his glory. John said, “We have beheld his glory…” (John 1:14); Jesus desired that all men would see the glory, “That they may behold my glory, glory which thou hast given me before the foundation of the world” (John 17:24). When Moses asked the lord to show him his glory he said two things, you will see it as I pass over you and you will see it in my NAME Hence the apostles later, could say they had seen the glory of the LORD because they had been with Jesus and that they knew his NAME. In short the glory is the revelation of God in all his attributes and that is found in his name, Jesus. in whom we see God in his finest glory among men. God in the flesh. If you want to see the glory of God in your church ask him for a revelation of his name and person. You Will see the glory as you see Jesus.
