SONS or SLAVES Breaking the Beggar Mentality

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. 15For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. 16The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: 17And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. (Romans 8;16-17).

I want to challenge you on who you really are, before you became pentecostal, before you became an apostolic. Who were you when God knew you in your mothers womb? Are YOU the person now he knew then. What are you becoming? I say this for I see many living way below their calling in God. Sure they are in ministry but they are living below their calling in God. Men are dying with unborn dreams, pastors are living with unborn sermons, prophets are living with unborn prophecies, sons are living with unfulfilled prophetic words that were spoken over them, because many of us do not have the mentality of an Heir. Sure we believe we have the position in Christ as Son’s but we don’t have the mentality of an Heir. If we had the mentality of an heir we would not fear building megachurches and not criticise those who had ones either. We would not put up walls when it comes to talking about prosperity if we had an heir’s mentailty!

I once heard a pastor asking his congregation to support his building fund, then he added, “now I’m not preaching prosperity, I don’t believe in that.” Then he continued to beg for money and asking for folks to give. Hmm, I thought, isn’t that a double standard? Planning for expansion and growth while denying man’s right to be prosperous. Surely he don’t want his folks to remain broke while they support his growth and expanding vision. I mean, what’s good for one is good for the other and broke people can’t help no body no matter how much we beg! SURELY IF GOD GIVES BIG DREAMS THEN WE MUST HAVE A BIG MENTALITY to match. What’s the point of believing Big yet living broke!

Oh how easy it is to say “God is BIG” yet it’s hard for us to say “He can make me rich.” Oh God is BIG but wealth (what he can give) “o that’s not for me!” Is this then reason we live and not see many miracles, be that physical or financial? congregational or personal.

I always understood that IF HE IS ABLE then I am ABLE

I read words like like now unto him that is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all…. and I know that refers to God’s ability but i have to ask if I’m a son and he is God in me than why cant I take that scripture as referring to me too. I could read it this way, Now unto him that that is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all... God you can do exceedingly more and yet I can do exceedingly so little, BUT you said…… Now unto him that is ABLE…and I AM ABLE

I don’t know about you but I want to go from strength to strength and faith to faith and glory to glory. Not only do I want to but I have to. I want my light to shine and life to matter. Living at my level is optional living at God’s is not. I have to enter the world like him and be a partaker of the inheritance among the saints.

If Children, then heirs; heirs of God, then Join heirs with Christ. (Romans 8;17). We are not old testament “servants” we are new Testament “Sons” Don’t you know sons have a higher place than servants, more privileges, they have a greater inheritance, a higher calling, they partake of a greater reward. Why even the servants of the Old Testament or covenant or I like to say the Old table, had a reward, and since God had pleasure in the prosperity of his servants who sat at the old table how much more does he take pleasure in the prosperity of his sons who sit at his table today. O but brother Paul I’m just a servant, that’s what Paul taught. I understand my friend yes we are serving God but we are heirs who serve God now, not servants who have neither inheritance or reward. I’m asking the Lord to take us to the table where we see what’s really ours in him. There are many of my brothers and sisters who have big dreams, they have big hearts and big plans, but live with empty pockets on barely get along street because we have not grown into heirship as much as we have grown into servant hood.

We know much on what it means to suffer but we know little on what it really means to be rich in Christ and Joint heirs with God. We have understood what it is to serve and be broke and stopped there, we have not partaken of the finer things of the kingdom because of the fear of the responsibilities and opportunities that come with being blessed.

I can do so much more with wealth that I could ever do while I’m broke. Being broke is not a kingdom benefit or a kingdom position.

PRAYER; O God deliver me from the poverty mentality and all the hardship that come with it, in Jesus name Lord I desire to help others but I need finances to do this I need wealth to do the great things you called me too. If you an own the cattle on a thousand hills and the wealth in every mine then surely it is not wrong to desire wealth so that I can be a kingdom investor a global preacher a soul winner who does more because I have more. God from today I will take my position as a son and not as a slave.
