Scripture Reading: Mark 16:15-16
Purpose: The missionary is a preacher, a herald and an ambassador to the nations. The apostles went into all the world and so can you discover the Lord’s assignment to those who are his disciples.

(1). Who are the ones called to missions?
“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.(Mark 16:15,16)

(2). What has the Son given to every man?
“For the son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house and gave authority to his servants and to every man his work. (Mark 13;34).

(3). What should we do with our God given talents?
“The he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same and made them other five talents...but he that had recieved one went and digged in the earth and hid his lord's money. (Matt 25;16-18.)

(4). What excuse ought we not make in investing our gift and talent?
“I was afraid and went and hid my talent in the earth.(Matt 25;25).The slothful man saith, there is a lion in the way I shall be slain in the streets.(Prov 22:13.)

(5). The Missionary is a herald and what is his work?
“And of this gospel I was appointed a herald and an apostle and a teacher.(2 Tim 1;11.NIV)

(6). The Missionary is a witness?
Ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.(Isaiah 43;10)

(7). The Missionary is a Teacher.
Whereunto I am appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles.(2 Timothy 1;11)

(8). What is the Missionaries responsibility and calling?
“He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me. He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it. (Matt 10;37-39).

(9). Paul reminded his listeners of the gospel he preached.
“For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:(1 Cor 15;3,4).

(10). How then should we labor?.
For Therefore we both labor and suffer reproach, becaue we trust in the living god, whois the saviour of all men, specially of those who believe.(1 Timothy 4;10)

Notes: Being a missionary is not for the faint or the lovers of pleasure. The missionary service is a mandate to fight for the faith once delivered. You become a saviour and deliverer to those you meet (Obadiah 1;21) Servants of Christ, our great God and Savior. Have you sought the Lord about service? Ask yourself: what can I contribute to my local assembly” How can I serve the World? Make a list of your gifts and talents. Begin to pray over the spiritual gifts as listed in 1 Cor 12 and 1 Cor 14. Seek God for these gifts and desire to use them (1 Cor 14;1).

Questions: Name ten characteristics of a herald.(1 Cor 5:8-13). What promises are made to soul winners (Prov 11:30). How does God see the harvest field (luke 10:2) How should we pray? (Luke 10:2) Read 1Timothy 4.6-10.
