Are you Still Married.. to the Law?

Dealing with Legalism .. Are you prepared to let it die?

Or are ye ignorant, brethren (for I speak to men who know the law), that the law hath dominion over a man for so long time as he liveth? For the woman that hath a husband is bound by law to the husband while he liveth; but if the husband die, she is discharged from the law of the husband. So then if, while the husband liveth, she be joined to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if the husband die, she is free from the law, so that she is no adulteress, though she be joined to another man. Wherefore, my brethren, ye also were made dead to the law through the body of Christ; that ye should be joined to another, even to him who was raised from the dead, that we might bring forth fruit unto God. (Romans 7:1-4).

He uses the illustration of marriage to explain the process of the old covenant law. The carnal man is married to the law of sin and death. It is as it in in a marriage, annulled only at death, which is baptism for the believer. When a believer is baptised into the name of Jesus he is released from the law and the law of sin and death.

Christ himself revealed this to us through his death, he took on flesh and became of Adam’s race through Mary, but it was through his death that the agreement with the law and the bondage of the law that all things associated with the law is dealt with. Through our association with Christ in baptism and his death we like him are free from the law,  we were at his death free to marry another and our baptism reveals that we made Christ our Groom and we became his bride. (Ro 6:1-3) “what shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin…know ye not that as many of us that were baptised into Jesus Christ were baptised into his death.”

This then also tells us the christ has married the church.  So now let me reiterate my point by saying this, who are you married too Christ or the Law. the fruit of the law are the works of the flesh, children of the flesh but the fruits of our marital union with Christ is “love joy peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control against such things there is no law” Gal 5:22-23).

I  am sure you have been in churches where preacher is very insistent on issues, head covering, clothing, fasting, the keeping of days, hair issues, let me be frank here, the higher law of life in Christ Jesus, will reveal that our walking in love joy peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control.. is far greater than the keeping of any other man made standards. I personally would rather have a church that demonstrated the fruits of the Holy Ghost than a church where folks had to comply with standards.  The higher law the “Law of life in Christ Jesus” works (Ro 8:2) it’s a true sign of Christ in us  and that our baptism truly divorced us from the law and married us to Christ. You are free.. Live like christ!

Can I share the revelation of Jesus Christ with you.

Jesus said except a man be born of water and Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of heaven (John 3:5). Peter obeyed Jesus for in acts we see the water and spirit salvation in real life taking place. (Acts 2:38). Repent and be baptised every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and you will receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

I believe this great truth is for us today
and its not preached anymore. We are preaching a half truth and so see half hearted believers in our faith. Many preach an “asking Jesus into their heart” message and never go beyond this into preaching the real gospel salvation message that the apostles preached that has real power. The message of salvation that shook the Jews and awoke the Gentiles (Acts 10:44-47).

This truth brought thousands into the church in Peters day and will do the same for you. Why, its the real salvation. I believe we can see these three super signs as I call them, taking place in our church every Sunday and why not. If Peter used them as the keys to unlock salvation to both Jews and gentiles then God can use you to unlock salvation to those in this generation and in your city too.

I believe your life, ministry  and church will enter a new awakening as you allow the Word and The Holy Ghost to reveal these truths to you. These same truth transformed my love for Jesus and my ministry took on fresh fire and purpose.

Be a part of the Awakening. We have to get it like the apostles had it if we want to see it like they saw it.

If you need me to chat one on one or come to your church and preach revivals. I’m willing!
Yours in his service. or if you need to personally discuss these life changing truths please don’t hesitate to contact me. In the meantime you may read my Page on Amazon at your leisure

Our Redemption and The Name of Jesus (pt2)

Oh I love that old Hymn, “Redeemed how I love to proclaim it. Redeemed by the Blood of lamb, redeemed through his infinite mercy, his child and forever I AM”

The Redeemed of the Lord, you and I are part of the redeemed, those bought back out of slavery. Folks talk about slavery and its cruelty and injustice, but friend irrespective of colour everyone of us is a slave, even the rich are slaves of a greater injustice, a Slave to sin and death and every evil under the sun, until we meet the divine chain breaker. We are all born slaves and shapen in its iniquity. We were born into slavery, external systems of men and internal bondages of the mind and soul.  Slaves to our own history, misery and carnality, slaves to our own corruption, contamination and conscience. Slaves to our own failures and misfortune. No one can escape slavery except through Christ redeeming us out of its bondage by his blood and adopting us as Sons by his eternal grace and mercy.

But Christ is our deliverer, Hallelujah!
Christ is the Divine chain breaker.

Let us briefly look at God’s redeeming work with his people.

1.God providing redemption By deliverance out of Egyptian Bondage.
Psalm 106:6-12. “We have sinned with our fathers, we have committed iniquity, we have done wickedly. (7) Our fathers understood not thy wonders in Egypt; they remembered not the multitude of thy mercies; but provoked him at the sea, even at the Red sea. (8) Nevertheless he saved them for his name’s sake, that he might make his mighty power to be known. (9) He rebuked the Red sea also, and it was dried up: so he led them through the depths, as through the wilderness. (10) And he saved them from the hand of him that hated them, and redeemed them from the hand of the enemy. (11) And the waters covered their enemies: there was not one of them left. (12) Then believed they his words; they sang his praise.” (Psalm 106:6-12).

2.God providing redemption By the Purchase of a slave
The buying again of an Israelite who, by reason of great poverty, had sold himself to another, by one of his near kinsman, is another wonderful picture of our redemption by Christ. (Leviticus 25:47-49).

3. God providing Redemption By Delivering a debtor out of prison.
“Thus saith the LORD, In an acceptable time have I heard thee, and in a day of salvation have I helped thee: and I will preserve thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, to establish the earth, to cause to inherit the desolate heritages; (9) That thou mayest say to the prisoners, Go forth; to them that are in darkness, Show yourselves. They shall feed in the ways, and their pastures shall be in all high places. (10) They shall not hunger nor thirst; neither shall the heat nor sun smite them: for he that hath mercy on them shall lead them, even by the springs of water shall he guide them.” (Isaiah 49:8-10).

These then being pictures, shadows or types of redemption given us by Jehovah. In this mini study we see that if Jehovah can provide redemption for the Old Testament saints then he who is our redeemer namely “Jesus”  must be the Jehovah of the Old Covenant and  does provide us with an even greater redemption. What was in type in the Old is found in Christ in the New. He is as much Jehovah the deliverer to us as Jehovah was to Moses. It its the same chain breaker that brought them out of Egypt that brings us out of Sin.

“But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises. For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second. For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:” (Hebrews 8:6-8).  “For this is the covenant I will make .. I will be to them God” (v10). (NIV,  NLT, ESB, Berean) not “a God” as in KJV and ARAMAIC Bible. Thou shalt have no other gods but me. The Lord would not have contradicted his own commandment.

“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.” (Mark 10:45). Not just for one and not just for a tribe or nation but for many or to all that believe in his name. Jesus has become our redemption. “But by His doing you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption,” (1 Cor 1:30).

Galatians 4:4-5 “But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, (5) To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons

In Part 3 We shall continue to compare the NAMES OF JEHOVAH with THE NAME OF JESUS  and discover that the Jehovah of the Old is the JESUS of the new in the redemption he has obtained for all.

Our Redemption and The Name of Jesus (1)

Redemption. Oh I’m glad I am redeemed are you. Just think of it, He bought for me what I alone could not purchase. He got for me that which I alone could never own. That is eternal life.  Let me just go ahead and quote Psalm 103 where we find at least 7 BENEFITS OF REDEMPTION.

Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and  forget not all his benefits: HEALING Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; SALVATION Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; TOTAL LIFE SATISFACTION Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s. RIGHTEOUSNESS The LORD executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed. He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel. PROVISION The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy. He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever. GRACE He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. MERCY For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him. SANCTIFICATION As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us and crowneth me with loving kindness. ….. SANCTIFICATION He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him. As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. SHEPHERD Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him….. Bless ye the LORD, all ye his hosts; ye ministers of his, that do his pleasure. Bless the LORD, all his works in all places of his dominion: bless the LORD, O my soul. (I have not quoted the whole psalm in order to encourage you the reader to study it and also to emphasise my points here, But its powerful all of it).

If I am HEALED I cannot be Sick anymore
If I have SALVATION I can no longer be a slave to sin and bound by the devil
If I am RIGHTEOUS then no amount of religious duties can make me right with God
If I have GRACE then no amount of guilt can replace Gods love
If I have his MERCY then I dont need to act as if i’m condemned and need a further trial.
If I am SANCTIFIED then I know I have remission of all sins in his name.
If I have a SHEPHERD then I will no longer be lost

Here we have 7 Benefits of redemption. in these benefits we also find “some of” the covenant names of  Jehovah including God our PROVIDER, God our Healer, God our Savior, God our Sanctifier, God our Shepherd, as we shall see in further  study .. Discover with me Brother Paul  THE ONENESS OF GOD and JESUS OUR REDEEMER in our next blog post and audio together on God Man Series

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is LORD, to the glory of God the Father (Philippians 2:5).

The context, the incarnation the LORD God becoming flesh… the Conclusion, every knee shall bow and declare the incarnate God, as God in the flesh. The Lord is God,

Those who cry Lord Lord and have prophesied in his name, Jesus will say “depart from me I don’t know you” (Mt 7:21-23). Why they don’t know him either. They don’t know him as their father, he is master (Lord) but only Lord as in “master” he is not Lord as in GOD to them. Every knee has to bow and say Jesus is LORD and one cannot do this without believing the incarnation “God was manifested in the flesh” (1 Timothy 3:16) The dynamic key here is, we only know God through the Lord and Jesus is lord. Now every knee is going to acknowledge this truth, “Jesus is God!”

Folks ask this question all the time, Did Jesus say he was God? Of Course! As Lord in the New Testament he certainly did. look at Isaiah 44:6 BESIDE ME,THERE IS NO GOD.

I am the LORD and there is none else; there is no God beside ME…That they may know from the rising of the sun and from the west, that there is none BESIDE ME. I am the LORD that created the heavens, God himself that formed the earth and made it, he hath established it he created it not in vain. He formed it to be inhabited. I am the Lord and there is none else (ISAIAH 45;5,6,18).

Now look at Colossians. To hear the same LORD declare himself the creator (in the volume of the book it is JESUS the LORD speaking, The ONLY lord, God alone Psalm 40:7 with Luke 24;27 which states “And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself”. The LORD tells us in Colossians, about himself for all scriptures are revealed by the Lord for he is the speaker of those things written and the revealer of that which is read. Its all about him spoken by him and telling of him, all scriptures. The LORD himself tells us in Colossians, “Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: 17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. 19 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell; (COL 1;15-19).
