#04 The Miracles of Jesus
By Paul B Thomas

Topic: The Miracles of Jesus
Scripture Reading: Hebrews 11;1
Purpose: To show that Jesus the miracle working God of yesterday still does miracles today

1.Jesus heals.
And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee.(Exodus 15;26)

2. Jesus heals all who were sick
And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people. And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them (Matthew 4;22-24).

3. Jesus uses mud to heal a man.
When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay, And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing. (John 9;6,7)

4. Jesus was approved by God.
Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know: (Acts 2;22). A workman must study to show himself approved (2 Tim 2;15).

5.Jesus raises the dead.
And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with grave-clothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go. (John 11;43,44).

6.Miracles turned spectators into followers
And Jesus stood, and commanded him to be brought unto him: and when he was come near, he asked him, Saying, What wilt thou that I shall do unto thee? And he said, Lord, that I may receive my sight. And Jesus said unto him, Receive thy sight: thy faith hath saved thee. And immediately he received his sight, and followed him, glorifying God: and all the people, when they saw it, gave praise unto God.(Luke 18;40-43).

And a great multitude followed him, because they saw his miracles which he did on them that were diseased (John 6;2)

7. Miracles are the works of God
If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not. But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him. (John 10;37,38).

8. To see Jesus perform miracles is to see God at Work.
Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us. Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works’ sake. (John 14;1-11).

9. Does Jesus do miracles today
Jesus Christ the same yesterday today and forever. (Hebrews 13;8).
I am the lord thy God I change not (Malachi 3;6)/

10. What did Jesus promise the believer that he would do?
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. (John 14;12)

These papers are written By Paul B Thomas for the propagation of the true gospel of Jesus Christ, the understanding of the apostles doctrine and the revelation of Jesus Christ.

NOTES: Healing is the believers inheritance. healing is wholeness and both come from the same word solo which means to be made whole.
Questions to Consider: What miracles took place in Acts by the hands of the apostles? If such miracles were performed after the death of Jesus then surely healing is God’s will for mankind today!

And he said unto them, go yes into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He that beliveth and is baptised shall be saved and eh that believeth not shall be condemned (Mark 16;15,16).

3.What did Peter associate with baptism?
Then Peter said unto them Repent and be baptised every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission your sins (Acts 2;36).

4.What was the reply of those who heard and believed the gospel by Peter
And with many other words he testified and exhorted them saying , Be saved from this perverse generation. the those who  gladly reviewed his word were baptised and that day about three thousand souls were added to them. (Acts 2;40,41)

NOTES: Baptism is a  not only a public witness but is evidence that one is following Jesus. Through baptism a man enters the death of Jesus and through reviving the Holy Ghost one receives the life of Jesus, the to baptism water and spirit (John 3;4) make this “new birth” and even in his name.
Questions to Consider: 1.What does the phase born of water and Spirit mea (John 3;5). 2.What does water baptism represent? 3.Did the apostles obey Jesus by preaching his command as given in Matthew 19:38?

The Church of God

General Subject
Stewards of The Mysteries of God

Message One
The Church of God
Scripture Reading 1 Peter.

PROPOSITION: A mini Study
To Grow spiritually one must Be active in the kingdom and a part of the local church.

1. The Church, Without God, Cannot Claim to be of God.
Since however it has God it can claim to be of God.
Because it is born of God and has God as its father, the church is a manifestation of God in the flesh (1 Tim 3:16). The church has its doctrine his character his passion and his mission. It reflects the father and his heart.

2. The Church Because It is of God, Has God as its father
..and hence God as its author it can demonstrate God in its nature, by the manifestation of spiritual gifts (1 Cor 12 1 Cor 14). Because it has the power of God it reveals the justice of God through its righteousness and holiness.

3. The Church Because it has God, has the Nature of God,
The Church Because it has God, has the Nature of God, the truth and the life of God. God is light and the church is light we exist as a lighthouse to those whose life is a storm, we exist as a lamp to those who sit in darkness and have no hope.
God the dew of Hebron is reflective in the church which arises in the morning after the dark cold night like the dew on the lowlands. She hides the morning and slowly rises to reveal the majesty of God’s moment hour upon hour, to those who behold her glory and story.
God is our Rock and so the church must reflect Christ stability and comfort in a world of instability and upheaval. We reveal God the rock (Ps 19:14. Deut 32, 4,15,18,30,31).
As God is a pillar of fire by night so to the church seeks to reflect God’s power and passion through the preaching of his word, Thy word was as fire shut up in my bones.  When we preach we show the fire of God in our bones

4. The Church Because it has God as it’s Saviour, has its gospel.
There are many churches that teach another gospel and another Jesus they don’t preach the faith once delivered. Neither do they preach the gospel of Peter and Paul. They use their texts and tell their story but they have no revelation like the apostles had, hence they preach another doctrine and another gospel and another Jesus.

5. The Church Because it has God as its Pillar has God as its Power
The Church Because it has God as its Pillar, has God as its Power and as such demonstrates the miracle power of the living God (1 Tim 3:16). The object, subject and topic of the church is God himself (1 Cor 3:16,17) The household of God is made up of many sons of God (Rom 8:29) Because the house of God is God’s house, he lives in it, and the church is alive in him. Because the House of God is his house no man can be be said to be head of the house except God. Man can buy and building yet god alone can purchase the church (Acts 20;28).
The church manifests the power of God through miracles and healings.
The church manifests the justice of God through its righteousness and holiness.

Questions to Consider: 1.Describe the church?  2.What is the purpose of the church?  3. How does the church differentiate from the kingdom?
